Yo there was a time before we got so streamlined to digital media that your favourite clothing brands would advertise in your cultural newsletter. Whether it be Complex, The Source, Juxtapoz, Dazed, whatever the fuck you can imagine. Randomly, I think back to some of those ads that always caught my eye and lived with me after all these years. This is super niche, but every LRG ad that featured Wale in the late 2000’s always stuck with me heavily. I don’t know if it was the SB trainer’s, the colourful G-LIDE’s, whatever it was it was cool getting a glimpse of Wale before he made his mark musically on the entire world. Also shoutout 100 Miles n Running mixtape. Had to be there.
